Today we made this DLO thing about the elements of a narrative. We watched a video about a boy with one leg and his mum got him a dog that is missing a leg. He didn't like the dog at first but then he started to like it after a while.

My Narrative

W.A.L.T Write an engaging narrative.

Today I had to post my narrative to my blog. My narrative is about twins that got trapped in a weird place. But they had to find someone to help them get out. I wrote this because, I looked on Pobble and I thought this would be fun to write about.

Here's my Narrative!

It was a bright and sunny day, and there were some twins called Layla, and Tayla. They are identical, they both had long blonde hair, bright green eyes, but they had completely different personalities. Layla was a girly girl, and Tayla didn’t really care. In one day, it will be their birthday! They invited as many friends as they could, their neighbors came, family, and friends. But on their birthday, while they were playing hide and seek, they somehow found a secret room. The Twins couldn't escape until they found someone that helped them find the way out.

“Yay! I can't believe we're finally turning five tomorrow! I can't take it anymore! I have to scream even louder! Louder than my las-” Screamed Layla.
“Shh, I am trying to sleep!” Replied Tayla. “Oh, sorry” Whispered Layla.
Layla stuffed her head in her pillow and squealed. Layla was excited for many things and she couldn't help but scream. Tayla blocked her ears, then after like 5 minutes, until she finally fell to sleep. But Layla woke up every hour, and looked at the clock to see what the time was.  Every hour she would wake me up and whisper in my ear, “A few more hours until m- our birthday” Then she woke me up at 8:00am and screamed “Its our birthday!” Layla jumped everywhere around the room. “Everyone is coming at 10:00! We have to get ready now! I am gonna put on my favourite dress! This is so exciting!!!” Layla Screamed. Layla came into her room again wearing a bright pink dress, she was also holding another purple dress, “Here put this on!” Layla said and gave Tayla the purple dress. “Nope, I am gonna wear my pyjamas all day” Replied Tayla. “What no! You have to wear this! Just put it on!” Screamed Layla. “Nope” Answered Tayla. Tayla stayed in her pyjamas and went back to sleep. Later on, Tayla was still sleeping, and everyone had arrived. Luckily, she just woke up so she didn't miss out on anything.

When everyone got there they all put the presents on the table, “Let's play hide and seek!” Shouted one of their friends! “Ok! I am not in though” Replied Layla. “I'll be in, I like being in!” Answered their neighbor. Everyone hid, Layla and Tayla hid in a closet. Layla saw a lever on the side, she thought it was just something that was a part of the closet, so she pushed it down. The bottom of the closet opened really fast and they fell down. “Ahh!” Screamed Layla. They fell onto snow, it was a really beautiful place. There were trees everywhere, covered in bright white snow. The snow was as white as a blanket. “Well, at least we won't get found. Right?” Tayla nervously asked. Someone sneaked behind them and grabbed them. They ran with them, as far away from the door as possible.

They tried running backwards, but they couldn’t find anything. They were scared, and lost. “Maybe we're just dreaming! I hope” Layla said. “Yeah! You’re right! We probably are!” Replied Tayla. Suddenly they heard loud footsteps stomping behind them. Getting closer and closer. They looked behind them, but nothing was there. “Did you hear those footsteps?” Whispered Tayla. “Yes, but no one is there. Probably just our imagination. We have gone crazy here!” Answered Layla. They continued walking forwards, then they heard loud bangs underneath them. There was a big crack in the ground, then they heard footsteps behind them again. It started snowing badly. They were cold but they didn’t give up. They were sure they were gonna find a way out. “See! I was right to wear my pyjamas!” Tayla proudly said. Then the footsteps stopped, the snow calmed down, and the crack started coming back together. “Phew! I thought we were gonna die!” Shouted Layla.

After hours of searching for a way out, they found a little house. It looked like it was warm, so they went to it. “You should knock, I don’t want to, can you do it?” Layla asked. “Fine. But next time we go knocking on someone's door, you’re knocking” Replied Tayla. Tayla knocked on the door, and they heard someone stomping loudly coming towards the door. Layla and Tayla backed up hoping the person inside wasn’t gonna hurt them. The door opened then, “Dad?!?” Layla and Tayla shouted. There Dad had been gone for a few months, and he was living there for ages! “Dad! Is this where you have been!? How come you never told us?” Shouted Layla. “I wasn’t intending on living down here. I saw the lever and I pushed it, then I fell down. I couldn’t find a way out so I decided to live down here. I built this little house because it gets cold” Their Dad replied. “We can’t stay here! I want to go home!” Shouted Tayla. “Yeah! Let’s go find a way out!” Answered Layla.

They ran around to try and find a way out but they couldn’t, it started turning dark. And they still haven’t found anything. They heard someone whisper behind them “You will never escape” They were all terrified, they didn’t know what to do. They knew someone was following them. They all stayed together so they wouldn’t lose each other. They walked everywhere but they couldn’t find anything. They walked for hours, then they found a hole. Their Dad slipped down so Layla and Tayla went down too. The hole leads to the outside of their house. They had finally made it home.                                                                               
                                                                                                                                                                             
When they got home, everyone was gone, they all went home. Everyone was sad they missed their birthday but they were happy to be home.

Narrative Snippet

Today for writing I got a Snippet of my Narrative. The Snippet is about two twins that are lost in some place and they are getting followed by someone. Have you done a Snippet before?

They tried running backwards, but they couldn’t find anything. They were scared, and lost. “Maybe we're just dreaming! I hope” Layla said. “Yeah! You’re right! We probably are!” Replied Tayla. Snippet of writing

Today I done a snippet of my writing. It is about how twins fell through a closet and into a very pretty place.

They fell onto snow, it was a really beautiful place. There were trees everywhere with snow all over the
top of the leaves. “Well, at least we won't get found. Right?” Tayla nervously asked. Someone jumped
behind them and grabbed them. They lost the way they fell down.

This is the introduction of my Narrative, it's explaining my characters and short hint of what my story is about.

Super fun Quick write!

Today for Quick Write I carried on with my quick write that I have been doing for a while now! It is really fun writing quick writes and were only supposed to do it for 15 minutes but since it is fun I do it for 20!

Today I was walking to school then I saw an old man about to get hit by a car. I immediately
jumped to save him! He apologized to me because I had dropped all of my school stuff out of my
bag. He helped me pick my stuff up and put them back into my bag. Then I realized I had to run
to school because I was gonna be late! 

I got to school just as the bell rang. I went to sit in my seat but there was a new girl. She pushed
me off and I fell onto the floor. “Why are you sitting on the floor?” Asked the mean girl. I saw her
giggling with her friend. But I ignored it and went to go sit by another girl. I said hi and asked if I
could sit by her. She said yes! I was so relieved. “Hi, my name is Lucy! What's yours?”
Questioned Lucy. “Sienna” I answered. “Nice to meet you Sienna!” Lucy happily said. “Nice to meet
you too,”
I replied. 

Suddenly the classroom started shaking. “EARTHQUAKE! EVERYONE GET UNDER YOUR
TABLES” Shouted the teacher. I wasn't that worried because it was only tiny but suddenly it got
bigger! Things started falling off the walls, there were lots of kids crying, and our teacher didn't
know what to do because she was new to teaching and had never been in an earthquake before.
Then out of nowhere a wall fell down and it trapped us in the classroom! 

Then the Earthquake stopped. I was so relieved that I didn't get hurt, I thought no one got hurt
but there was one student stuck under a bookshelf that had fallen over. My teacher attempted
to lift the bookshelf up but she couldn't. So she asked us all to help her. We all lifted the
bookshelf up and the student under the bookshelf was fine! He was on his phone watching
youtube! He didn't even know there was an earthquake!

Later that day when I was going home from school, my parents decided to surprise me with a
new Kitten! I was so excited, I jumped around my room everywhere! I had been asking for a
pet for ages now! Now I finally have one! It is a white cat with a little bit of black on its ears and
nose, she is a girl and I called her Coco! 

After I got my kitten I told all my friends about her when I went to school! But there was this one
girl that thought I was using my kitten to get attention! So she made up a lie that would make all
of my friends go to her. “Hey! My Dad is bringing pizza to all of my friends! If you come to me
you can get some pizza!” Shouted Lila. I knew she just didn't want me getting all of the attention.
A few minutes later her dad with pizza. It was only the start of the day and I had been lonely all
day! I wanted to get my best friend Lucy but she liked Lila! 

The next day at school everyone was talking about Lila. Saying she has been to the moon,
everywhere in the world, and that she is related to so many famous people! I knew she was
lying so I tried to expose her! She said her Right hand was sore so she got everyone to do
stuff for her. So I shouted “Hey Lila! Want a napkin!?!” I threw it at  her! She caught it with her
right hand, “See you just caught that and apparently your hand is sore! LILA MORE LIKE
LIAR!” I shouted. Lila looked at everyone, everyone looked mad but then she said “I had to do
that! If I didn't it could have hit someone in the eye! I just saved someone!”

Today I done an Infographic about how to make a bed. I had already written normal instructions on how to make a bed so I just used the instructions from there.

Quick write

Today I continued doing the Quick write that I have been doing for a few days now. It is really fun writing because I enjoy writing! We write a story for 15 minutes every day, we can write a new one or carry on with the one we have been doing. I carried on with the one I was already writing.

Animal Town

Here is my story!

It was a bright and sunny day, and I was going on a trip with my Mum and Dad to Animal Town! I didn't even know it existed, but my parents didn't either. I thought it would be like a zoo, with lots of animals in huge cages! My Mum thought it would be lots of pictures of Animals like a museum! But my Dad didn't know what it would be like.

We got in the car and drove off to my friends house, her name is Lizzy, Lizzy came with us. Then we went to the bus stop, because we aren't allowed cars in Animal Town. I don't know why but it's fine. The bus takes 2 hours and 30 minutes to get to Animal Town! Luckily in the bus we were in it was allowed food and drinks so we got some food and drinks. It made the ride a lot better. I asked Mum, “What food do they sell there? Or what do they have?” “I heard they have fish fingers and buttermilk! But they don't have toilet paper. I think they use leaves! Luckily I bought some” Mum replied. 

Eventually we made it! There were numerous amount of Pictures of animals everywhere! “I think it is just lots of animal pictures everywhere! Haha! I was right! Like always” Mum excitedly shouted. Suddenly hundreds of animals came sprinting over to the bus! They all ran over Lizzy! Lizzy shouted “I think I have a dislocated arm! Oh wait no nevermind it is just a graze” “Umm I suppose none of us were right. It is just a town full of animals. Lizzy are you okay?” Dad asked. “I think so,” Lizzy said. “Oh no I think you broke it! There are no hospitals here so we have to go back!” Dad Bellowed sadly.

Well another long drive back. “Wait a minute, is that a giraffe driving us back?!?” Lizzy yelled!

Writing

For writing I chose a picture from Pobble 365 and I done this one. It is about a kid falling into a painting and then they get stuck in it. Do you think my writing was interesting?

                      Alive

Today I had to go to the boring art gallery. My Mum loves going there But all it is
is some rooms with paintings! When we arrived my Mum stormed off to go look
at her favorite painting. She wants to be an artist some day, her paintings are
amazing! I pulled my phone out of my pocket and listened to some music on the
radio station, waiting for my Mum to finish at the art gallery.

My Mum snatched my phone out of my hands and told me to go look at the
paintings with animals on them. I went to the elephant paintings, I went through
the door, but I tripped on something on the floor and accidentally fell on the
painting! I leaned on the painting to see if I had a graze on my knee, but I
slowly fell back into the elephant painting. Then I was completely in the painting.

I heard elephants everywhere! I slowly looked up, then an elephant said hi to
me! I screamed, I don't know how I am gonna get out of here! If my Mum never
told me to go look at some paintings then I would have not been in this painting
but now I am! I will probably be stuck forever!

Suddenly I woke up, Phew it was just a dream. “Come on we're going to the art
gallery” Shouted Mum. Oh no! 

My Recount

Room one went to Hanmer Springs Forest Camp for Camp it was really fun. We made a recount about it and we made a google drawing of something we done at camp. Is my recount interesting?

Hanmer Springs Camp

Last week, Room 1 went to Hanmer Springs Forest Camp. We went to many different places.
It was very fun.

First we arrived at school. We had to put our bags outside the office so they could get put into the
trailer, and we put our day packs on our desks. Then we went into our cars. I was in George’s car,
the people in the car were Raima, Kaysha, Kade, Kata, and Gabby. Then we went for our boring
long drive to Hanmer Springs. 

When we got to Hanmer Springs Forest camp, we had our morning tea. Then we went to Conical
Hill. We  had to climb up it, it felt like it went on forever because it just went up and up and up.
Eventually we made it to the top. Everyone's faces were as bright as an apple. But then we had
to go back down, it was a lot easier than going up though. Sadly since we didn't do the Dog
Stream walk we had to walk back to the camp. It was so tiring, and we just walked up a big hill
so walking back after climbing the big hill was really tiring.

Once we got back to the Hanmer Springs Forest camp, we went into the kitchen and Miss
Holland gave us all an ice-block. Since it was as hot as the sun, so it was very nice to have it.
After that we got our keys to our cabins so we could put our togs on. Once we put our togs on we
went to the pools. The first thing I did was go to a pool with Gabby. After a bit of swimming we
went on the hydroslides! It was very fun. I went on the hydroslides with Liv and Gabby. The
hydroslides looked as tall as a three story building! Then we went in the pools again and just
played. Some people went on each other's shoulders, and some other people were jumping
into the pool. When we had to go we got dressed and went back to the camp.

The next day we did orienteering! We got put into some groups, and looked for number markers.
My group and another group came together into one big group and looked for the number
markers together. We all had a map each, and the map had numbers on it. Where the numbers
are is where the number markers were. We had to write down the numbers, there were also
some letters too. Then once we wrote down the number and the letters. We went to find some
more. My group and the other one came second in the orienteering. I forgot how many points
we got though.

After that we got put into two groups. One of the groups was gonna go tree climbing and the
other was gonna go mountain biking. I wanted to do tree climbing first, but sadly I was mountain
biking. I didn't want to do mountain biking because I don't really like doing it. 

First we got our bikes and helmets. Then we went around the camp with our bikes and tested all
the gears. After that we got split into another two groups. I don't know what the other group was
doing. My group went to the easy rider track. There were lots of turns and roots on the track,  It
was as hard as running in cross country! Then we did snakes and ladders, snakes and ladders
are just lots of hills and turns everywhere. I thought it was fun doing that, but only when I went
down, I didn't like going up because it was tiring. Then we went back to the camp.

The next day my group did tree climbing and the other group did mountain biking. At tree
climbing there were lots of bees! Some people got stung but luckily I didn't. The tree climbing
instructors gave us harnesses and helmets that we had to put on. It was really confusing when
I was trying to put my harness on. Then I put it on too tight but I Then the instructor told us what
we had to do while we climbed the tree. The instructor said we have to not worry about the bees,
so we started to climb the tree. There were three trees I tried on two but I only made it to the top
on one of them, I felt like a monkey climbing the tree. I thought it was a lot more fun than
mountain biking.

Then we went back to school. So that means another long boring drive back. My favorite thing I
did there was tree climbing, sleeping although the mattress was as hard as a rock. I still liked
sleeping, and eating some of the food, we had to have vegetables with our dinner! They were
green like leaves on a tree. I didn't like mountain biking though, I don't want to do it again.
I thought camp was very fun! I would like to go there again someday.

Sand Dunes

Today room two and three went to a beach to learn about sand dunes. My class Room two went with Pete, and Room three went with another person.

First Pete told us about health and safety, and explained a few things to us. We got into groups of five in my group I had Chleo, Amelie, Jennifer, and Raima. We made sand dunes, and done things to them like put a hole in the middle, protect them, and pretend that our fingers were a sports team running up and down the sand dunes. It was fun.

Public or Private Information

W.A.L.T understand public and private information and identify them.

Today in Cybersmart we highlighted public and private information. If we thought it was Public we made it green if we thought it was Private we highlighted it red and if we didn't know we would highlight it orange.

Sapphire and I made a goggle drawing about what we had done. The goggle drawing was about the difference about Public Information and Private information. Can you Identify the public and private information.
