W.A.L.T. Problem solve as a team.

Today my class went to Room 4 to do S.T.E.M. For stem we had to make a chair out of paper and tape. We were in groups, in my group I had Jennifer, Sam, and Bryce.

The chair had to be 10cm tall and it had to hold up a soft toy. Our chair wasn't 10cm tall but it was strong and stable.

Sand Dunes

Today room two and three went to a beach to learn about sand dunes. My class Room two went with Pete, and Room three went with another person.

First Pete told us about health and safety, and explained a few things to us. We got into groups of five in my group I had Chleo, Amelie, Jennifer, and Raima. We made sand dunes, and done things to them like put a hole in the middle, protect them, and pretend that our fingers were a sports team running up and down the sand dunes. It was fun.

Barbecue

I went to my Nan's house for a barbecue there was lots of yum food and I couldn't wait to eat it.

Lots of my family came I didn't know who they were, I was confused! My Nan has a Dog his name is frank. He is very funny! If you smile using you're teeth at him he growls at you!

I played with my sister on my Nan's Xbox! It was fun, my sister moaned at me to play a dancing game I didn't want to so she was sad :(

Playing with my friends!

Today my friend Makayla came over for the day. Her brother Angus also came over to play with my brother Gabriel. We played at my house most of the day and played Minecraft and stuff it was fun! Most of the things Gabriel and Angus done was Pokemon related. Me and Makayla also played with my Kittens!

Yesterday, my cat had four adorable kittens! They are smaller then my hand, their eyes are closed, and they cant walk properly yet! 

My Birds

I have two birds one boy one girl and they are both budgies (aka Budgerigars or Parakeets) Their names are Skye and Blu. They are both Blue with black and white feathers on their backs. Blu is a lot more calm then Skye. She is crazy and her bites hurt in fact, one time she bit me so hard I started to bleed! I have to make sure they are not flying around while my cats are inside because all they want to do is eat them.

I have six pets in my house right now! I have two Cats, two Birds, and two Guinea Pigs.

The two cats.
One is a Korat (That is its breed). She is a girl and she is a rare and ancient breed. Her breed hates loud noises and would probably run away to get as far as she can from loud noises. Her name is Lunar she has a favourite video on YouTube and if she hears the music that play she comes running towards whatever you play it on. It is a string. She is very cute but dislikes being held. Sometimes she will let you hold her but other times she growls and hisses.

The other is a Tabby, white with grey stripes and a few brownie orange patches around. She is a girl. She is currently pregnant with who knows how many kittens. She is very lazy too, if you were to see her she would most likely be lying down just chilling. Like always :) She is very snugly and cute too!

One of them is called Blu, He is a boy and he is a Budgie (can also be called budgerigar or a parakeet). I recently got him for my birthday and I also got the other bird. He is pretty easy to take care of despite when in the day he gets into fights with the other one, that gets annoying. He has a blue stomach and black and white feathers on his back. He is very cute!

The other one is called Skye, she is a girl and she is also a Budgie like I said before (can also be called budgerigar or a parakeet) She is the complete opposite of Blu she will bite you and make you bleed! But it is fine because I still love her :) She has a navy stomach and black and white feathers on her back too. She is cute too!

One is called Zeus, he is a boy and he has a brother too. He is white and very cute and cuddly! If you put your finger close enough to his mouth he will lick you!

The other is Apollo, Zeus and Apollo are brothers! Apollo is brown and white. He is a lot more shy and less confident then Zeus. But he i still very cute and friendly!

Swimming in PYJAMAS!

For the last day of swimming we got to swim in our pyjamas! Mine had a llama on them and sadly had to be dumped in the water. (Poor Llama ):(

Anyways it was to teach us how to take off some of our clothes if we were sinking under. We had togs on underneath obviously.

Firstly we had to swim with our pyjamas on! There were two problems one there was SO many people getting in the way of me swimming so I waited at the back for some people to go past, and two the pyjamas made me so heavy!

Then we had to take off our pyjama pants. We were not allowed our feet on the ground though which made it harder. After that we had to swim some more it was a lot easier without the pants on. Soon after we had to take our pyjama tops off! I personally think this was a challenge, it was so much more harder than the pants! I got a stuck in my shirt but I somehow managed to get it off.

That is what I done when I swum in pyjamas!

(By the way I said "We" in this quite a lot the "We" is my class at my school)

Cats are very cute, comforting and adorable pets. So I have 4 facts about cats I am going to share with you!

Fact one: There are over 500 MILLION domestic cats in the world.

Fact two: Cats and humans have been associated for nearly 10000 years.

Fact three: Cats conserve energy by sleeping up to 13 to 14 hours a day.

Fact four: Cats have flexible bodies and teeth      adapted for hunting small animals.

Kiwi

The Kiwi is native to New Zealand. Sadly the Kiwi is going extinct though so soon it will no longer exist.

Kiwis are found and live in New Zealand.

Kiwis eat worms Kiwis have a highly developed sense of smell to find them.

Unbelievable Bees (Bumblebees)

Unbee-lievable Facts about Bumblebees!

1. The word Bumblebee is a compound word (bumble + bee). Bumble means to move or act in a awkward or confused manner.

2.  Bumblebees can fly very quickly. They can reach ground speeds of 54 kilometres per hour (km/h)

3. Bumblebees can do more work and carry more pollen than other bees, including honeybees. In fact, they can do 50 times as much work as a normal honeybee.

4. The number of bumblebees is declining in New Zealand due to a number of factors, including people who are scared of bumblebees and just try to kill them and people standing on them on accident.

Swimming

This term for the past 2 weeks my school has been doing swimming. My class starts swimming at 1:00PM. My school goes swimming at QE2 and we take a bus there.

Be sun safe

New Zealand :)

My teacher gave me and my class home-work to do throughout the holidays. I am doing why tourists should visit New Zealand.

I think the best season to visit NZ is in summer because it would be nice and sunny and you could out somewhere rather then stay outside if it was cold and raining.

Here is three places I think would be fun to go.

1. Rainbows End, Rainbows End is a really cool place to go for all sorts of ages. You can go on roller coasters and more! It is in Auckland.

2. The Antarctic Centre, The Antarctic Centre is another fun place. To go you can look at many Antarctic you can see Antarctic related things. The Antarctic Centre is in Christchurch.

3. The Gondola, The Gondola is where you can go up a mountain, relax and sit down, and you can look at the great view from the Gondola. 

I think you should visit New Zealand. Have you been to New Zealand?

Today for Cybersmart Room 2 done Pixel art on Google Sheets. We got to pick what one we wanted to do I done a Charmander! It was kinda hard but I done it. We also had to do the perimeter of the things we done my perimeter is 66. Have you done Pixel art before?

Interland

 Today I played a game called Interland! It is about Cybersmart and how to be nice and kind to people online. Some of the questions were hard to answer though. There were different levels that you can do like Reality River you have to answer some questions about how to be safe online, and 3 other things that have a different purpose. I think I got around 300 points.

Using manners in our words!

W.A.L.T Use manners in what we say. 

Manners are things that you are supposed to be polite and make someones day better.

You usually use manners when someone says thank you, or if you receive something, if someone is in the way and you say pardon and other things like that. 

I think I need to work on saying may I because I do not usually say it.

The Abandoned Hotel

Today I made a narrative, About The Abandoned Hotel. It is about to twin girls that get trapped in a abandoned hotel. but they didn't know it was abandoned. This is my story and picture.

The Abandoned Hotel

One dark stormy night twin girls decided to go play outside in the front yard. Stella and Ella didn't want a jacket or an umbrella. They just went outside. While the twins went for a walk down the creepy street and they saw a hotel! An abandoned hotel. With blood all over the entrance. The windows were smashed and the blood was still wet.

Ella walked in, not knowing it was abandoned. Stella knew there was something weird about the hotel but she still walked inside. Ella thought it was empty she thought wrong! It was not empty it was full of scary creatures. Stella decided to look around Ella fell down a hole with a carpet over it, but Stella didn't know. So Stella continued walking. Since the hole was so deep Stella couldn't hear Ella calling for help. 

Suddenly Stella realised Ella was gone! She was panicking. She ran back to the entrance, Ella wasn't there! So she ran back to where she disappeared. Suddenly Stella fell through the hole and found Ella. But they didn't know how to get out.

It was dark, luckily Stella bought a flashlight she left in her back pocket. It worked for a few seconds then it blew up. Stella had just bought it and even put new batteries in it! Then she remembered she had some batteries in her pocket! They were relieved! She stuffed the batteries into the flashlight. They continued walking down the hall.  Suddenly a shadow sprinted past and slowly went around them and started speeding up every second and disappear after a while it was gone. Ella and Stella were terrified.

Ella waited for a second to make sure it was gone and to wait for Stella to hurry up. Ella and Stella slowly walked forwards walked slowly hoping nothing was there. Then another shadow came and started running after them. Ella ran fast, while Stella tried running as fast as she could, Ella looked behind her and it was gone. Eventually Stella looked behind her and realised it was gone! But that shadow made them even more lost! They continued walking down the hallway.

Suddenly a very loud scream came from behind them! Ella fainted! Stella decided to wait for her to wake up. 30 minutes later Stella fainted too! Eventually they woke up. But tied to two separate chairs! There was a lady going around them! Both of them cried!

The lady had to go to the toilet. So Ella and Stella somehow ran away. There was a ladder that they climbed up. They were relieved. As Ella and Stella continued running outside the lady grabbed their hair! Luckily they kicked her away. When the made it home they told their parents everything. They police knocked it all down. 

5 years later. The lady knocked on the door. The Mum, Dad, and the Twins were never seen again! All of the creatures invaded their house forever!

Places you can pray!

Today I done a DLO that showed others where they can worship God. Worshipping means show respect and obey somebody. In my DLO I put places you can pray and who you can pray with.
I also put Matthews verse, For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them. That means anywhere you pray God is with you. Do you know any other places you can pray?

PLAYS!

Today Room 2 learnt plays and showed them to Room 4 and Room 4 show us there plays too! My play I done was called Feathers First.

Linkon was a Kiwi,
Cody was a Hawk,
and I was a Kakapo!

My favourite thing about the play was making the props. I made some wings, then i painted them. Since I was a Kakapo I painted my wings green and yellow! My least favourite thing was that I don´t quite like performing with a audience because then when I talk everyone will look at you.

Netball

Today New Brighton Catholic had winter sports. I played Netball,

What went well,

I played attack and I shot some hoops, My team got 10 shots the other team got 1 shot. The team was not to hard to play against which that was a very good thing. We have won every time so far which is three times.

What did I find hard,

In the first quarter the defence was pretty good she managed to get the ball off me sometimes but not all the time. The other team was not getting called out for shooting and they done that alot.

What I am looking foward to next week,

I really like to play netball it is my favourite sport although there is lots of running i still find it fun. Most of the time the teams are easy so I hope the next team is more of a competition.

What I need to work on,

Im not to sure i think im already going alright.

Public or Private Information

W.A.L.T understand public and private information and identify them.

Today in Cybersmart we highlighted public and private information. If we thought it was Public we made it green if we thought it was Private we highlighted it red and if we didn't know we would highlight it orange.

Sapphire and I made a goggle drawing about what we had done. The goggle drawing was about the difference about Public Information and Private information. Can you Identify the public and private information. 

Public vs Private Information

With Mark today we learned about public and private. There was a girl called Becky and she shared everything online. If you share everything online random people can get into your things that you don´t want others to do. They can find your name and get your email and home phone and many other things.

Private Information are things like your home phone, your email, your address and more! If someone does get your private information report them or tell your parents. If you think that it is going to be something that is public than ask someone that would know it is safe. Think or ask before you put something online. 

Public Information, Public information is things like you full name, where you live, or your email unless you know them. Public information is mostly things that you know are not private. If you do put something private online make sure you delete it before someone gets into it. If your not careful than you could be hacked! Be careful about what you post!

Comforter and Spirit of Truth

For R.E. I learned about Te Wairua Tapu and The Comforter and The Spirit of Truth. The Comforter is someone who helps you and encourages you on your way and the truthful spirit is the spirit that only tells and shows you the truth!

Private and Public

Private is information that only you and your family should know. You should not be putting information like your full name, your address or your phone number otherwise people will know where you live and they can use that information then can act like they are you. Public is things that you put online and everyone can see. Like your favourite food, your pet and things that you know. Think before you put things online because it might be information that is meant to be private.

Powtoon

With Powtoon I created a short clip with people and props. You Cannot use the things that say pro under them because they cost money. If you first enter Powtoon you should not agree to the first two pages that come up because they are scams that can allow people to use your email and get money out of it.
