Metaphors

 W.A.L.T learn what a metaphor is.

Today we made a DLO about metaphors. We also put some examples of metaphors on the DLO aswell.

Easter Sunday

The people that were there was Jesus, his disciples/friends, Joseph, Mary, Angel, and the Guards. 

Joseph took Jesus' body to the tomb and put the big stone in front of the door. The guards came to guard it. Then there was an earthquake, Mary saw that the door was opened so she went in and saw that Jesus wasn't there, but she saw an Angel. The Angel told Mary that Jesus had risen, Mary went to go tell Jesus' disciples/friends that he was alive.

It was on Easter Sunday (the day Jesus rises) in place called Jerusalem in Israel.

He rose because its what the profits had said and since he is the son of God.

The positives were that Jesus had risen from the dead and  everyone was happy because he was alive, and the the negatives were that there was an Earthquake and some people would of been worried that something could of happened to him.

A way they could get everyone to know is by putting posters up or say the lord has risen to everyone.

If I was Mary I would be happy, relieved, excited and kinda nervous.

Jesus was put into the tomb and then a few days later there was an earthquake and Mary saw that the door was opened and there was an angel in there. The angel told Mary that Jesus had risen and she went to go tell Jesus' friends/disciples.

What happened in the video was that there was an earthquake and then an angel came, the angel told Mary that Jesus had risen and the Jesus came to her.

Life Education

Last week, we went to life education. We got taught about what happens when you smoke or vape, we learnt what they do to our lungs and what happens when you do drugs. She showed us a clip thingy about these two people who grew up doing that stuff. In the clip it showed us someone that was neglecting his kids because he was never home and he was out doing drugs. It was pretty sad to watch that and I felt bad for his kids. Its also sad because its hard for them to stop doing that. Say no to drugs, they suck.

Surfing

Yesterday, the 17th of March we went surfing. We walked to New Brighton Beach and met the people that taught us to surf there. They told us the rules and how to get on then we got into our math groups and my group was first. They gave us a wet suit and a surf board then we went beside the water and they showed us how we get onto our surf board. Then we went into the water.

It was very hard to stand up, I did not stand but I got onto my knees. I felt pretty bored when I got on my knees because I couldn't get onto my feet it was too hard. Lily and I were trying to surf at the same time but we still failed. Then the other group went surfing and we went to eat morning tea, then we played on the playground for a while. 

I think that it was very fun surfing, have you ever been surfing before?

The Orchestra

 Last Thursday, my school went to the Town Hall, we got to watch the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. There was lots of instruments and we listened to a story. The story was Peter and The Wolf.

All of the characters were played by instruments, the instruments that they played were: the strings, flutes, the oboe, clarinet, french horns, Timpani/drums, and a bassoon.

When they played the instruments I was excited because there was a man dressed in pink, I think that that was the most exciting part.

The instrument that I think made the most interesting sound was probably the oboe. But  I dont really know, I just like the name of the oboe its cool. If I could play one of the instruments it would probably be the oboe.

I felt pretty happy when listening because I was watching the conductor and his cheeks were jiggling. :) Also it was funny because it was just fun to watch him.

 Today we learnt how to be Cybersmart. We made a DLO with some examples of Kawa of Care. I liked making this because it was easy and it also has Dora in it.

Sailing

Yesterday we went sailing. We went on the bus and went to a big lake. 

We learnt how to put a sail boat together and how we use it. When we got into the water we went one at a time and it was hard at first but i got the hang of it. At the end we got to go into pairs and went on the boat. When I went on with Liv I fell off and had to hold onto the boat while she went back.
