Sailing

Yesterday we went sailing. We went on the bus and went to a big lake. 

We learnt how to put a sail boat together and how we use it. When we got into the water we went one at a time and it was hard at first but i got the hang of it. At the end we got to go into pairs and went on the boat. When I went on with Liv I fell off and had to hold onto the boat while she went back.

Pot Plants

W.A.L.T show a way we can show stewardship.

This term we have been making pot plants from plastic bottles. We got to choose what our pot plants are gonna be, mine is a little duck. 

First we cut a plastic bottle into the shape of what we are making, after that we painted it. Then we chose a seed that we are gonna grow. We put soil in it and now we are waiting for them to grow.

Why should we be sustainable?

Because it helps the Environment.

How have we shown that we are sustainable?

By reusing plastic bottles.

Why should we help the environment?

So we can help animals and nature.

First Aide

 Today we learnt about First Aide. A girl called Paula from St John came in and taught us.

These are the instructions.

-Danger (check for 5 seconds to see if there is any danger.)

-Response (talk to them and see if they respond then tap them on their collarbone with the back of your hand.)

-Send for help (if they dont answer call 111.)

-Airway (lift their head up to help them breathe.)

-Breathing (check if they are breathing.)

-C.P.R (do C.P.R on them.)

-Defib (AED) 

Paula taught us how to do C.P.R. You link your fingers through your knuckles and press down. We done it on fake people for 2 minutes, it was very tiring. Paula also told us that it could break their ribs while doing it.

Paula taught us how to put on a bandage. We put a pad onto where they were bleeding and then wrapped the bandage around their arm. 

She showed us a Defib. You put two sticky things (that shock them) onto their stomach and If the person stops breathing then it tells you then you have to stand back and it will shock them.

A while ago we started doing Perspective Art.I drew a town and I think that this was very fun.

Parts of speech

Today we made a parts of speech thing in buddies. We had to write down lots of the parts of speech on a piece of paper and it was in a puzzle shape.

Rosary Beads!

Today for R.E we made Rosary Beads on a google drawing. We labeled what prayers we have to say on each bead. 

I think this was was fun to make but it was also kinda hard.

Volcanos!

For the past two weeks we have been making volcanos. We made the volcanos out of paper mache. It was really messy but fun to make. 

Today we made them erupt, we used vinegar, baking soda, and water. There was lots of bubbles that came out and it smelt very gross. But I still thought it was fun making them. Some classes came out to watch us make our volcanos erupt.

The Vinegar is acid, and the baking soda is the base.
